ChanelEast West Flap Bag

Q: What size is this Chanel East West Flap Bag?
A: This bag measures approximately 25 cm wide, 13 cm high and 5 cm deep, with a shoulder strap drop of around 32 cm. The East West shape is known for its long, slim silhouette, making it ideal for day-to-evening wear while still feeling compact.

Q: What typically fits inside this bag?
A: The East West Flap is best for essentials rather than bulky daily carry. It will typically suit a phone, card holder or compact wallet, keys, lipstick and a few small personal items. Because the profile is slim, larger purses, water bottles or oversized sunglasses cases may be a tight fit. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Is the Chanel East West Flap considered a practical everyday bag?
A: It can be, depending on what you carry. Owners often like this style because it offers the classic Chanel flap look in a sleeker format, but it is generally more compact than a Medium Classic Flap. It works especially well if you prefer carrying just the essentials.

Q: What year is this bag from?
A: Based on the serial number series provided in the product information, this bag dates to approximately 2005 to 2006. That places it within the vintage Chanel period that many collectors look for when shopping classic flap styles.

Q: Does this bag come with an authenticity card, box or dust bag?
A: No extras are listed for this item. According to the product information, it comes with no accessories. If you would like a final confirmation of what is included, we recommend checking the product information before purchase.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: This item is listed in good condition. The exterior shows discolouration on the leather strap, the interior has light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. As with most vintage Chanel bags, gentle signs of wear are normal and part of the bag’s character.

Q: How should I care for the light-coloured leather?
A: Light Chanel leather benefits from careful handling. Avoid overfilling the bag, prolonged exposure to sunlight, humidity and dark fabrics that may cause colour transfer. For routine care, use a soft dry or slightly damp cloth and store the bag upright, ideally lightly stuffed to help maintain its shape. Because this is a vintage light-coloured bag, extra care around denim and dark outerwear is especially advisable.

Q: How can I assess authenticity on a vintage Chanel bag like this?
A: For vintage Chanel bags, buyers usually look at a combination of details rather than a single point: serial sticker era, overall construction, leather quality, quilting alignment, hardware, logo proportions, lining and date consistency. This bag’s serial number range is consistent with the stated 2005 to 2006 production period. As always, authenticity should be judged as a whole, not by one feature alone.
