HermèsEnvelope PM Pouch

Q: What is the Hermès Envelope PM Pouch best used for?
A: This is a compact leather pouch designed for small daily essentials. It works well for cards, folded notes, receipts and other slim items, making it a practical piece for use inside a larger bag or carried on its own for minimal essentials.

Q: What size is this pouch?
A: According to the product information, this piece measures approximately 15.5 cm wide by 11 cm high. As with many handmade Hermès leather goods, very slight variations can occur, so please use the measurements on this page as the best guide for this specific item.

Q: What typically fits inside?
A: Given its compact format, it is best suited to flat essentials such as bank cards, folded cash, receipts, business cards and other slim small items. It is not intended for bulky contents, and overfilling may affect the shape of the leather over time.

Q: What material and colour is this piece?
A: The product information lists this pouch as purple leather with a flap closure and tonal leather lining. Hermès envelope pouches are known for refined leather craftsmanship and a clean, minimalist silhouette.

Q: What does the serial number Square E mean?
A: Hermès uses blind stamps to indicate production year. A stamp with the letter E inside a square corresponds to 2001, which matches the product information for this item.

Q: What condition is this Hermès pouch in?
A: This item is listed in Very Good condition. The exterior and interior show light traces of use, while the hardware is shiny with light scratches. This suggests a well-kept pre-owned piece with gentle wear consistent with age and careful use.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This pouch comes with a box. Everything included with the item is shown in the product information, so if something is not listed there, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Hermès leather pouch?
A: Store it in a dry, temperate place away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity. Avoid contact with water, oils, ink, perfume and heavily dyed textiles. If it gets damp, blot it promptly with a soft lint-free cloth, and avoid overstuffing it so the shape stays neat.

Q: Is this style considered practical for everyday use?
A: Yes. Hermès envelope pouches are valued for their lightweight, compact format and elegant design. This makes them especially useful if you want a slim organiser for essentials rather than a full-size wallet or handbag.

Q: How is authenticity assessed for a pre-owned Hermès item like this?
A: Authentication typically involves checking the leather quality, craftsmanship, stitching, hardware, stamp details and overall consistency with the model. At A Retro Tale, all items are vetted for authenticity before being offered for sale.
