Louis VuittonLockme Tote Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Lockme Tote Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 32 x 26 x 16 cm, this tote is well suited to daily essentials such as a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses case, small cosmetic pouch, notebook, and a compact water bottle. Its structured tote shape also makes it practical for day-to-day use, but please refer to the Measurements on this page for the most accurate guide to size.

Q: Is this Lockme Tote suitable for work or everyday use?
A: Yes, the Lockme line is often chosen for everyday wear thanks to its roomy tote silhouette, leather construction, and more understated look compared with logo-heavy styles. This piece has dual shoulder straps and a practical interior for daily essentials.

Q: Does the bag close securely?
A: Yes, this bag features a turn-lock closure. It offers more security than a fully open tote while still allowing easy access to your belongings.

Q: Does this bag come with a shoulder strap or any extras?
A: No. According to the product information, this item comes with no accessories. It has dual shoulder straps, and the listed strap measurement is 25 cm.

Q: What is the condition of this specific bag?
A: This item is rated Very Good Condition. The exterior handles are cracked, the interior shows light traces of use with a little fraying on the sides, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Please review the photos carefully for the most complete view of its current condition.

Q: What material and hardware does this bag have?
A: This Lockme Tote is crafted in black leather and finished with silver-tone hardware. It also has a tonal microfibre lining, which gives the interior a soft, refined finish.

Q: Where was this bag made, and what does the serial number FL1148 indicate?
A: The bag is marked as made in France. The serial number FL1148 follows Louis Vuitton’s older date-code system and is commonly interpreted as a France-made piece produced in 2018. Date codes are useful reference points, although authentication should always consider the overall construction, materials, hardware, and finish as well.

Q: Is black a practical colour in the Lockme line?
A: Yes, black is generally considered one of the most practical options in the Lockme family. It tends to be easier to style and is often preferred for everyday use because it is less likely to visibly show colour transfer or minor wear than lighter shades.

Q: How should I care for Louis Vuitton Lockme leather?
A: Store the bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity, and keep it lightly stuffed when not in use to help maintain its shape. Wipe the leather gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, and avoid overfilling the bag. Because this example already has cracked handles, extra care should be taken when carrying and storing it.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully checked for authenticity by trained experts. Assessment includes details such as materials, construction, hardware, stamps, and date-code consistency, so you can shop pre-owned luxury with confidence.
