PradaRe-Nylon Mariner Bag

Q: What is Prada Re‑Nylon made from?
A: Re‑Nylon is a regenerated nylon yarn (ECONYL) created from recovered materials such as discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps and other nylon waste. It is designed to be recycled repeatedly without loss of quality, combining durability with a lower environmental impact.

Q: How big is the Mariner in this listing and what typically fits?
A: The bag measures approximately 48 × 38 × 8 cm. It comfortably fits a 15–16 inch laptop in a protective sleeve, A4 documents, a water bottle, a long wallet, phone and small daily essentials. Capacity will vary based on how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Is the Re‑Nylon fabric waterproof?
A: Re‑Nylon is generally water‑resistant and shrugs off light rain and splashes, but it is not fully waterproof. We recommend wiping the surface dry after exposure to moisture and avoiding prolonged heavy rain. Keep liquids securely closed inside the bag.

Q: How does this bag close and what is the interior like?
A: It has an open top with a magnetic snap closure for quick access. Inside, there is a logo‑jacquard lined main compartment with one zipped pocket to secure smaller items.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable or crossbody‑friendly?
A: This Mariner features a single rope shoulder strap with an approximate 30 cm drop. It is designed for hand or shoulder carry; the strap is not adjustable and there is no long crossbody strap on this model.

Q: Any tips for caring for Re‑Nylon?
A: Wipe the exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth and allow it to air dry. Avoid machine washing, harsh chemicals, or high heat. Store the bag loosely stuffed in its dust bag, away from direct sunlight and humidity. For significant stains, consult a professional handbag care specialist.

Q: Will the light beige colour show marks or colour transfer?
A: Light tones can show dirt more easily and may pick up dye from dark denim or richly dyed garments. Minimise prolonged friction with such fabrics, rotate wear, and spot clean promptly to maintain the colour.

Q: Is Re‑Nylon durable for everyday use?
A: Yes—Re‑Nylon is known for its toughness and abrasion resistance, making it suitable for daily carry. As with any luxury piece, corners, hardware and high‑touch areas may show wear over time; routine gentle cleaning and mindful use will help preserve the finish.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. For this piece, that includes the box, dust bag and authenticity card.

Q: How do you authenticate and grade condition?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware and brand markings. This bag is graded Very Good, showing light traces of use on the exterior and interior, and shiny hardware with light scratches, as noted in the Condition details.
