Saint LaurentVintage Cassandra Bag

Q: What typically fits in the Saint Laurent Vintage Cassandra Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 25 × 23 × 3 cm, it comfortably holds a large smartphone, compact or continental wallet, keys, small cosmetics, and an A5 diary or slim e‑reader. It is a slim profile, so bulkier items like a water bottle or chunky cases are not recommended.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody as well as on the shoulder?
A: Yes, the single flat strap measures about 50 cm and is adjustable, allowing most people to wear it on the shoulder and, for many, crossbody. Exact fit varies by height and preferred drop—refer to the strap measurement and photos to gauge your fit.

Q: How does the closure work, and is it secure for daily use?
A: It has a magnetic flap closure that is quick to open and close yet holds securely in everyday use. As a general precaution with any magnetic fastening, keep magnetic‑stripe cards in a wallet or the internal zip pocket rather than directly against the magnet.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information section. If something (such as a dust bag) is not listed there, it is not included. Feel free to contact us if you would like us to double‑check what is in the box for this piece.

Q: What is the condition and where is the wear located?
A: Overall very good vintage condition. The exterior shows a light stain on the front and scuff marks at the hems and corners; the hardware is shiny with light scratches, and the interior shows a light trace of use. Please review the photos for a close‑up view before purchasing.

Q: What material is it and how should I care for it?
A: Crafted from brown grained leather with beige whipstitch detailing and gold‑tone hardware. Wipe with a soft, slightly damp lint‑free cloth, then dry immediately. Avoid harsh cleaners, over‑conditioning, or prolonged sun/heat. Store stuffed to maintain shape, in a breathable dust bag, and keep light camel leather away from dark denim or freshly dyed fabrics to minimise colour transfer.

Q: Is the strap removable or replaceable?
A: It is designed as an adjustable, fixed strap rather than a detachable one. If you ever need strap or edge‑paint care, a specialist leather atelier can perform maintenance; contact us and we can recommend trusted services.

Q: Will a tablet fit inside?
A: Slim tech like an e‑reader or small tablet close to A5 size may fit, depending on case thickness. Due to the slim 3 cm depth and structured shape, larger or padded tablets are not recommended for comfortable closure.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag and does it have a serial/date code?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly examined by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and codes. Many Saint Laurent bags carry an internal serial/date code that is heat‑stamped; placement and format vary by era and model. We are happy to share additional photos or details upon request.

Q: Where was this piece made?
A: The product information indicates France as the country of origin label for this item.
