ChanelCaviar Wallet On Chain Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel Caviar Wallet On Chain?
A: Despite its slim profile (approx. 19 × 12.5 × 3 cm), it comfortably holds a smartphone, keys, lipstick, and other small essentials. Thanks to built‑in card slots, you won’t need a separate wallet, which frees space for items like a slim compact or travel cards. Packing flat items and avoiding overfilling preserves the silhouette.

Q: Will it fit an iPhone Pro Max or similarly sized phone?
A: Most standard smartphones fit. Larger models like the iPhone Pro Max generally fit horizontally, but a bulky case may be too tight. If you use a very thick case, consider removing it or using a slimmer one. Always compare your phone size with the bag’s internal space and avoid forcing the flap closed.

Q: How long is the chain and can it be adjusted?
A: The chain drop on this piece is about 60 cm, which suits cross‑body wear on most frames. The chain is not adjustable or detachable, but you can shorten the drop by looping the chain inside to wear it on the shoulder, or tuck it away to carry the WOC as a clutch.

Q: What compartments and slots does the WOC have?
A: The Classic WOC layout includes six card slots, an open main compartment and two zipped sections for coins or valuables, plus a slim rear pocket for quick‑access items. This design keeps essentials organised without the need for a separate wallet.

Q: Is caviar leather a good choice for everyday use?
A: Yes. Chanel’s caviar (grained calfskin) is known for its pebbled texture and resilience. It is more scratch‑resistant and structured than lambskin, making it well‑suited to regular wear while maintaining its shape and appearance.

Q: How should I care for caviar leather?
A: Wipe the surface occasionally with a soft, dry cloth, and spot‑clean gently if needed. Keep the bag away from prolonged sunlight, moisture and oils, and avoid overfilling. When storing, lightly stuff with acid‑free tissue, place the chain in a soft pouch to prevent imprints, and keep the bag in a breathable dust bag in a cool, dry place.

Q: What hardware and closure does this item have?
A: This specific piece features silver‑tone hardware and a snap‑button flap closure for secure, easy access.

Q: What does the serial number 27463259 indicate?
A: The eight‑digit code beginning with 27 places this item in the 27‑series, produced around 2019. Note that Chanel transitioned from serial‑number stickers to microchips from 2021; this piece predates that change.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under product information. For this piece, that is the serial number tag, box, dust bag and an authenticity certificate.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes a thorough, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, examining materials, stitching, stamps, hardware and serial details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to share additional photos or details on request.
