ChanelMini 2.55 Reissue Bag

Q: What is the Chanel Mini 2.55 Reissue Bag?
A: The Mini 2.55 Reissue is Chanel’s re-edition of the original 2.55 design, known for its understated rectangular turn-lock and chain strap without leather threaded through it. This particular piece is a vintage black quilted leather version with gold-tone hardware, red leather lining and internal pockets.

Q: Is this the same as a Chanel Classic Flap?
A: No. While the two styles are closely related, the 2.55 Reissue is typically recognised by its Mademoiselle turn-lock and all-metal chain, whereas the Classic Flap is known for the interlocking CC clasp and leather-interwoven chain. If you prefer a more understated Chanel look, the Reissue is often the one collectors choose.

Q: What typically fits inside this mini size?
A: With approximate measurements of 20 x 16 x 13 cm, it is best for daily essentials such as a phone, keys, a cardholder or compact wallet, lipstick and a few small personal items. It is a practical size for light everyday use or evening wear, but it is unlikely to suit larger purses or bulkier items.

Q: Can this bag be worn crossbody?
A: This example has a strap drop of approximately 30 cm, so it is generally better suited to shoulder wear rather than crossbody wear for most people. Fit can vary depending on height and styling preference.

Q: What does the serial number indicate?
A: The listed serial number begins with 12, which generally corresponds to production around 2008 to 2009. On vintage Chanel bags, the serial number is an important dating detail and one of several points used during authentication.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: The overall condition is listed as Very Good. The exterior shows scuffing on the corners, the interior has light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. This is consistent with a well-kept vintage bag that has been gently used over time.

Q: What is included with this bag?
A: According to the product information, the serial number is included. No authenticity card, box or dust bag is listed, so those items should not be assumed to be included unless confirmed separately.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Chanel leather bag like this?
A: Store it lightly stuffed to help maintain its shape, keep it away from prolonged direct sunlight and moisture, and wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth after use. Avoid overfilling the bag, and take extra care around the corners and hardware, as these are the areas that usually show wear first.
