Q: What does HAC mean, and how does this model differ from a standard Birkin?
A: HAC stands for Haut à Courroies. It is an earlier Hermès design that inspired the Birkin, with a characteristically taller silhouette. This piece is the compact 32 model rather than one of the larger HAC travel bags.

Q: What are the measurements of this Hermès HAC 32?
A: This bag measures 32 cm wide, 26 cm high and 16 cm deep. The listed handle measurement is 15 cm.

Q: What can I fit inside this bag?
A: Its dimensions suggest room for everyday essentials such as a phone, purse, keys, a small cosmetics pouch and a compact diary. Actual capacity depends on the size and arrangement of your belongings. Laptop fit has not been confirmed; compare your device and its case with the measurements, allowing for the bag’s opening and interior space.

Q: Can this bag be worn crossbody or on the shoulder?
A: This is a top-handle style intended for hand carrying. No shoulder strap is listed in the product information, so it should not be assumed to offer shoulder or crossbody wear.

Q: What material and colour is this bag?
A: This bag is made from ostrich leather and is listed in Camel. Ostrich leather has distinctive raised feather follicles, which give its surface its recognisable texture.

Q: What condition is this vintage bag in?
A: It is in Very Good Condition. The exterior has minor signs of wear, the interior shows light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. It is a pre-owned piece rather than a new or unworn bag.

Q: When and where was this bag made?
A: The recorded stamp is an E within a square, dated to 2001 in the product information. The country of origin is France.

Q: What comes with this bag?
A: A dust bag is listed in the product information. A box, padlock, keys and other extras are not listed, so please do not assume they are included.

Q: Can I use this ostrich leather bag in the rain?
A: Avoid exposing it to rain or moisture. Hermès advises special care for ostrich and other precious leathers, as water can leave marks. If it gets wet, gently wipe away moisture with a soft cloth and allow it to dry naturally away from direct heat.

Q: How should I care for the ostrich leather?
A: Protect it from direct sunlight, intense heat, oils, perfume and ink. Avoid repeated contact with dark or raw textiles, which may transfer colour to the camel leather. For cleaning or treatment, seek advice from Hermès or a specialist experienced in exotic leather rather than experimenting with household products.
