PradaVitello Daino Chain Bag

Q: What is Prada’s Vitello Daino leather and how does it wear over time?
A: Vitello Daino is a naturally grained, pebbled calf leather that is treated to emulate the softness of deerskin while remaining robust. It resists light surface scratches well and softens slightly with use, developing a relaxed drape while holding its overall structure.

Q: Is this a shoulder or a crossbody bag?
A: This piece has a single chain-and-leather shoulder strap with an approximate 35 cm drop, designed for shoulder carry. Most users will find it sits too high to wear comfortably as a crossbody, and the strap is not designed to be adjusted.

Q: What typically fits inside?
A: With approximate dimensions of 30 × 26 × 11 cm, it comfortably holds daily essentials such as a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, small cosmetics case, compact umbrella, and an 11-inch tablet. A slim A4 document folder may fit, but thicker folders and most 13-inch laptops are generally too large to zip comfortably—please compare with the measurements provided.

Q: What are the closure and interior details?
A: It features a zip-top closure and a black jacquard logo lining with one internal zip pocket, helping to keep valuables secure and organised.

Q: How should I care for Vitello Daino leather?
A: Prada advises cleaning leather bags only with a dry, soft cloth, then storing in the original dust bag in a well‑ventilated place away from heat and moisture. For deeper cleaning or colour touch-ups, we recommend using a trusted leather specialist rather than home treatments.

Q: Is the leather water-resistant?
A: While the pebbled grain is naturally forgiving, the bag is not waterproof. Avoid rain and prolonged moisture; if it becomes damp, blot gently with a soft, dry cloth and allow it to air dry away from direct heat before storing.

Q: Will the gold-tone chain and hardware scratch or tarnish easily?
A: Light micro-scratches are normal with wear on gold-tone finishes. Minimise contact with abrasive surfaces, perfume, lotions, and hand sanitisers, and wipe hardware with a soft cloth before storage to help maintain shine.

Q: What comes with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under product information for this listing. For this piece, a dust bag is included. If an item such as an authenticity card or extra strap is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How is this Prada bag authenticated?
A: A Retro Tale conducts a multi‑point inspection of materials, stitching, stamps, lining, hardware and construction. Authentic Prada bags commonly feature a signature jacquard interior lining, quality hardware engravings, a factory QA tag inside (on many models), and newer items may include an integrated NFC tag. Please note that the presence or absence of an authenticity card is not the sole indicator of authenticity—our expert assessment is.
