CelineMacadam Circle Tote Bag

Q: What is the Céline Macadam pattern?
A: Macadam is one of Céline’s vintage signature monograms, recognised for its geometric all-over motif. It is strongly associated with the house’s earlier canvas styles and is especially popular among collectors of Old Céline.

Q: What typically fits inside this Medium Circle Tote?
A: With approximate measurements of 36 x 28 x 12 cm, it is suited to daily essentials such as a wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, a cosmetic pouch and a small notebook or tablet. It offers good everyday capacity without feeling overly bulky.

Q: Will it fit a laptop or A4 documents?
A: Slim A4 papers may fit depending on how full the bag is, but most padded laptops are likely to be a tight fit once the zip opening and structured shape are taken into account. We recommend comparing your item with the listed measurements before purchase.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder?
A: This style has dual circular top handles with an approximate handle drop of 9 cm, so it is best carried by hand or in the crook of the arm rather than on the shoulder.

Q: Does it have a secure closure and internal pocket?
A: Yes. It has a top zip closure for added security, along with one internal pocket for smaller essentials.

Q: What materials and colours does this bag feature?
A: This piece is made in brown Macadam canvas with black leather trim, black leather lining and gold-tone hardware.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: It is listed in very good vintage condition. The exterior shows light traces of use, the interior has a few scratches and marks, and the hardware remains shiny with light surface scratches.

Q: What product information is included with this item?
A: This piece is sold as the bag only. No additional items are noted in the product information for this listing.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Céline Macadam bag?
A: Wipe the canvas gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth, keep the leather trim away from excess moisture, and avoid overfilling the bag so it holds its shape. When not in use, store it lightly stuffed in a breathable dust bag and away from direct heat or prolonged sunlight.

Q: How do you authenticate vintage Céline bags?
A: Authentication is assessed through a combination of details such as materials, construction, stitching, logo typography, hardware, lining and any interior date or production coding where present. As with all items sold by A Retro Tale, this bag has been reviewed for authenticity before listing.
