ChanelReissue 2.55 Cerf Tote Bag

Q: What fits inside this Chanel Reissue 2.55 Cerf Tote?
A: Based on the measurements shown here (approx. 34 × 19 × 12 cm with a 19 cm handle drop), it comfortably carries daily essentials such as a long wallet, phone, keys, small cosmetic pouch, sunglasses, a compact umbrella, a small water bottle, and an A5 diary or tablet (up to around 11 inches). Slim 13-inch laptops may fit horizontally without a bulky sleeve, but please compare your device against the internal measurements to be sure.

Q: Why is this style called the Reissue 2.55 Cerf (also known as the Executive Tote)?
A: Cerf/Executive is the structured work-tote line introduced in the mid‑2000s. This variation features the rectangular Mademoiselle turn‑lock on the exterior pocket, a clasp associated with the 2.55 family, hence some retailers and collectors refer to it as the Reissue 2.55 Cerf. Naming conventions can vary on the resale market.

Q: Is the Cerf/Executive Tote still produced by Chanel?
A: It is no longer part of Chanel’s current boutique offering and is widely considered discontinued. As a result, pieces like this are sourced on the pre‑owned market rather than purchased new in store.

Q: Does this particular bag come with a long shoulder strap?
A: Many Cerf/Executive totes were made with a detachable strap, but availability varies by piece. This item is sold exactly as shown; please check the product information on this page for everything included. If a strap is not listed in the product information, it is not included.

Q: How is the interior laid out?
A: The bag has a black fabric lining with three compartments and internal pockets, making it easy to organise everyday items while keeping the silhouette structured and professional.

Q: What does the serial number 10757464 tell me?
A: Chanel 10‑series serial numbers correspond to production in approximately 2005–2006. This aligns with the era of the Cerf/Executive tote range and helps date this piece within that window.

Q: Is this a good choice for office use?
A: Yes. The Cerf/Executive is known for its structured silhouette, discreet branding, practical compartments, and comfortable rolled handles, making it a popular, understated work bag that pairs well with professional attire.

Q: How should I care for the black grained leather and silver‑toned hardware?
A: Wipe the leather occasionally with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid harsh cleaners, oils, or prolonged exposure to heat/sunlight. Store stuffed to maintain shape, in a breathable dust bag, with hardware not pressing against the leather. Keep liquids and pens capped and separate inside pouches to prevent transfer.

Q: What exactly is included with this purchase?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information. For this piece, a serial number tag is included. If items such as an authenticity card, dust bag, or box are not specified in the product information, they are not included.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this item?
A: Every piece is inspected by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, serials, and construction details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional product information on request.
