ChanelSuede Tassel Camera Bag

Q: What typically fits inside this Chanel Suede Tassel Camera Bag?
A: With approximate dimensions of 23 × 17.5 × 4 cm, it suits daily essentials: a large smartphone, compact wallet or cardholder, keys, lipstick, and slim sunglasses in a soft case. Due to the 4 cm depth and curved zip opening, A5 notebooks, most tablets and 500 ml water bottles generally do not fit comfortably. If you’d like a tailored fit check for a specific item, just ask and we’ll test this exact piece.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody and is the chain strap adjustable?
A: The chain‑link shoulder strap is not adjustable. Our listing notes an approximate strap drop of 90 cm, which on most wearers allows easy crossbody or shoulder carry. Fit varies by height and layers; if you’d like, we can provide a quick try‑on measurement for you.

Q: How secure is the closure and what pockets does it have?
A: It features a zip‑top main compartment for everyday security, a brown leather‑lined interior with one zipped pocket for valuables, and an external front flap pocket with a CC turn‑lock for quick‑access items. Our product photos show the exact layout of this piece.

Q: Is the gold‑tone hardware real gold or 24k gold‑plated?
A: Many vintage Chanel bags from the 1980s to the mid‑/late‑2000s were made with 24k gold‑plated hardware; Chanel later transitioned to non‑plated gold‑tone finishes. This particular bag is listed with gold‑tone hardware—plating is not confirmed for this item. If it’s important to you, we can share macro photos and discuss era‑typical indicators.

Q: What does the serial number 3421870 indicate?
A: A 3‑series serial number typically dates to approximately 1994–1996. This aligns with the vintage nature of the piece and its classic features. We’re happy to help with additional dating details and close‑up photos on request.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This listing includes the authenticity card and the internal serial number tag. If an accessory isn’t listed under “Accessories” (for example, box or dust bag), it isn’t included—feel free to contact us for confirmation.

Q: How should I care for the suede?
A: Preventive care is best. Gently brush with a suede/nubuck brush to lift dust and maintain the nap; avoid rain and liquids; if lightly damp, blot (don’t rub) and let air‑dry away from heat. Consider a dedicated suede or nubuck protector spray—apply light, even coats and patch‑test first. Be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim and dyed fabrics, especially on lighter suede.

Q: Any tips for storing it to keep the shape and protect the suede?
A: Store upright in a breathable dust bag, lightly stuffed with acid‑free tissue. Tuck the chain inside the bag and place a soft cloth between hardware and suede to minimise imprints. Keep away from direct sunlight and humidity, and avoid overfilling to preserve the silhouette.

Q: How do I look after the tassel and hardware?
A: Keep the tassel away from rough or snagging surfaces. During storage, position the tassel flat and separate metallic elements from suede with a soft cloth to reduce rubbing. Hairline scratches on gold‑tone hardware are normal with gentle use; wipe with a soft, dry cloth only.

Q: How is authenticity guaranteed, and can Chanel service this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and serial details. Chanel boutiques may offer repairs subject to assessment and parts availability; reputable independent luxury leather specialists can also provide cleaning and colour refresh for suede. We’re happy to advise on your options.
