It is best suited to hand carry or carrying in the crook of the arm, though some customers may also find it sits on the shoulder depending on frame and styling preference. Q: Is the Paddington known to be heavy?
A: Yes. The Paddington is well known for its substantial feel, largely due to its thick leather and signature oversized hardware. Many collectors love this because it gives the bag its iconic, luxurious presence, but if you prefer especially lightweight bags, it is worth keeping in mind.

Q: What are the main features of this specific bag?
A: This piece is crafted in orange grained leather with brass hardware. It features dual rolled leather handles, a beige canvas lining, one internal zip pocket and a two-way zip closure with the iconic padlock detail.

Q: What is the condition of this vintage bag?
A: This item is rated Very Good Condition. The exterior shows corner wear, the interior has light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. As with most vintage pieces, gentle signs of age and wear are part of its character.

Q: Does this bag come with any included items?
A: Yes. According to the product information, this item comes with a dust bag. If any additional inclusions are not listed in the product information, they should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How should I care for grained leather on a vintage Paddington?
A: Wipe it gently with a soft cloth and avoid excessive water, harsh chemicals, prolonged direct sunlight and heat. When not in use, store the bag in a cool, dry place in its natural shape, ideally lightly stuffed and kept in its dust bag to help maintain the structure.

Q: Is the padlock functional or mainly decorative?
A: The oversized padlock is one of the Paddington’s signature design elements and an important part of its recognisable look. On vintage Paddington bags, it is both a decorative feature and part of the closure styling, but most buyers value it primarily for the iconic aesthetic it gives the bag.

Q: How do you authenticate a vintage Chloé Paddington bag?
A: At A Retro Tale, all items are carefully reviewed for authenticity by experienced specialists. For vintage Paddington bags, key points usually include the quality and feel of the leather, construction, stitching, hardware, stamping and overall craftsmanship. We stand behind the authenticity of the pieces we offer.
