GucciCode Lock Briefcase

Q: What typically fits inside the Gucci Code Lock Briefcase?
A: With exterior measurements of approximately 38 x 29.5 x 7.5 cm, this briefcase is well suited to A4 documents, folders, a tablet, a notebook, chargers, and other slim daily essentials. Its structured shape and internal compartments make it especially practical for papers and organised work items rather than bulky packing.

Q: Will it fit a laptop?
A: It may suit smaller and slimmer laptops, but we recommend checking your device’s exact measurements against the bag dimensions before purchase. Because the interior is always slightly smaller than the exterior measurements, this style is best viewed as a compact business briefcase rather than a large laptop bag.

Q: Does it have a shoulder strap?
A: No. This piece is designed to be carried by hand and features a single top handle with an approximate handle drop of 3 cm. No shoulder strap is listed for this item.

Q: How does the lock closure work?
A: This briefcase has a built-in combination lock closure for a classic attaché-style feel. As with most combination locks, any code change is normally only possible while the lock is already open, so the working code should always be kept safely noted once known.

Q: What is the condition of this vintage briefcase?
A: The overall condition is noted as good. The exterior shows wear to the corners along with marks and scratches, the interior has light traces of use and marks, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. This level of wear is consistent with a pre-owned vintage business bag and is reflected in the product information.

Q: Is black textured leather a practical choice for daily use?
A: Yes. Textured leather is generally appreciated for being more forgiving in everyday use than smoother finishes, as it can make minor scuffs and handling marks less noticeable. Combined with its structured silhouette, this makes the briefcase a practical option for regular office or document use.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Gucci leather briefcase?
A: For routine care, wipe it gently with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth, avoid overfilling, and keep it away from prolonged heat, rain, and direct sunlight. When not in use, store it in a breathable fabric bag and lightly stuff it to help maintain its shape. Avoid harsh cleaners or heavy conditioning products unless recommended by a leather specialist.

Q: Does this briefcase have a serial number?
A: No serial number is listed in the product information for this item. That does not automatically indicate a problem on a vintage Gucci piece, as older Gucci bags do not all follow the same coding conventions as newer ones. Authentication should always be based on the full construction, materials, hardware, and interior details rather than a number alone.

Q: What is included with the briefcase?
A: No additional items are listed with this briefcase. Unless otherwise stated in the product information, it should be assumed to come as the bag only.
