Louis VuittonDamier Amarante Ange Bag

Q: What are the measurements of the Louis Vuitton Damier Amarante Ange PM and how does it carry?
A: Approximately 17 × 13.5 × 2.5 cm (about 6.7 × 5.3 × 1.0 in) with a handle drop of about 8.5 cm (3.3 in). The short chain handle is best for hand or crook‑of‑arm carry; it is not designed for shoulder or crossbody wear.

Q: What typically fits inside?
A: Daily essentials such as a compact smartphone, cardholder, keys, lipstick and the included removable mirror. Because the frame structure is slim, keep items flat and avoid overfilling to preserve the shape and clasp alignment.

Q: Is the Ange PM still in production?
A: No. The Ange PM is from earlier collections and is no longer part of the current Louis Vuitton line; it is now found on the pre‑loved market.

Q: What is Damier Amarante Vernis?
A: Vernis is Louis Vuitton’s glossy patent calf leather. In Amarante, it appears as a deep burgundy tone with a Damier (checkerboard) emboss. Vernis offers a striking shine but can be sensitive to light and colour transfer from pigmented materials.

Q: How should I care for Vernis leather?
A: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use. Keep it away from contact with dark denim, printed materials or other richly dyed leathers to minimise colour transfer, and store out of direct sunlight to help prevent fading. When not in use, loosely stuff the bag and place it in its dust bag in a cool, dry place.

Q: Does this bag come with a long strap?
A: No. This Ange PM features a single short chain handle with a top clasp closure and is intended as an evening or handheld bag.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Please refer to the product information on this page for everything included. For this piece, a dust bag is listed.

Q: Will it have a date code, and where might it be?
A: Louis Vuitton used stamped date codes until early 2021; newer items use an embedded microchip. On earlier pieces like this, the code is typically stamped on a small leather tab inside a pocket or along a side seam. Normal wear or lining changes can make codes faint or no longer visible.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: The stamp indicates Spain. Louis Vuitton manufactures in several countries, including France, Italy, Spain and the USA, so a Spanish made‑in stamp is normal for the brand.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this piece?
A: Every item is inspected by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and codes. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide additional photos or details on request.
