Louis VuittonDamier Cobalt Match Point Backpack

Q: What typically fits inside the Damier Cobalt Match Point Backpack?
A: With approximate measurements of 44 × 29 × 15 cm, it comfortably carries daily essentials: a large smartphone, medium wallet or cardholder, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, AirPods, a cosmetics pouch, A4 documents and a tablet (e.g., iPad/11‑inch iPad Pro). Slim 13‑inch laptops may fit vertically or diagonally depending on the sleeve; 15‑inch laptops are generally too wide for the opening. Please compare your device’s dimensions with our Measurements or ask us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit a laptop securely?
A: A slim 13‑inch laptop (approx. 30.4 × 21.2 cm) can usually be carried without a bulky case; the drawstring and buckle top helps keep it in place. For extra protection, use a thin sleeve and position the device vertically; avoid overpacking around the laptop to preserve the silhouette.

Q: How secure is the closure and what is the pocket layout?
A: The Match Point features a drawstring top secured by a buckle/clip for everyday security and quick access. Externally there’s one zipped pocket plus one mesh pocket for grab‑and‑go items. Inside, you’ll find a black fabric‑lined compartment with an internal zipped pocket and additional slips. Our listing photos show the exact configuration of this piece.

Q: What is Damier Cobalt and how does it compare with Damier Graphite?
A: Both are Louis Vuitton’s coated canvas in a chequerboard motif. Damier Cobalt blends deep navy/blue with black for a sport‑lux look, while Damier Graphite is a dark grey/black palette. Durability and care are similar; the difference is primarily the colourway and styling.

Q: Is the coated canvas water‑resistant? Can I use it in light rain?
A: Yes—LV’s coated canvas is durable and water‑resistant for everyday use, so light rain is typically fine. It isn’t fully waterproof, so wipe off moisture promptly and allow the bag to air‑dry away from heat sources. Avoid soaking and prolonged exposure to heavy rain.

Q: How should I care for the Damier Cobalt canvas, leather trim and hardware?
A: Wipe the canvas with a soft cloth (slightly damp with mild soapy water if needed), then dry immediately. Keep leather trim away from oils and solvents; condition smooth leather sparingly with a neutral product after testing on a discreet area. Be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim. Store the bag upright, lightly stuffed, in its dust bag, and protect hardware from rubbing to minimise hairline scratches.

Q: Are there date codes in this bag, and where are the brand markings located?
A: Authentic LV bags have an interior heat‑stamp (e.g., “LOUIS VUITTON Paris” plus country of origin). Pieces made up to around early 2021 typically include a date code on a leather tab or along a seam; from 2021 onward LV transitioned to embedded microchips rather than visible date codes. Placement varies by model—contact us for close‑up photos of this exact piece.

Q: Is the Match Point Backpack still produced?
A: Availability in current boutiques can vary by season and region; many Match Point configurations, especially in Damier Cobalt, are most commonly found on the pre‑loved market today. If you’re seeking a specific year or layout, we’re happy to advise.

Q: How does it carry and is the strap adjustable?
A: It has dual adjustable shoulder straps for comfortable everyday wear and a top handle for grab‑and‑go. The strap length can be set to suit different builds and layers. Refer to the Measurements section for this piece’s handle/strap drops, or ask and we’ll confirm them for you.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: Included items are listed under “Accessories”—for this piece: dust bag. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, date code/microchip information and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of every item we sell.
