Louis VuittonDamier Graphite Leoh Messenger Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Damier Graphite Leoh Messenger?
A: With approximate measurements of 30 × 23 × 16 cm, it accommodates daily essentials: a large smartphone, compact wallet or cardholder, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft sleeve, wireless earbuds and a small pouch. An A5 diary fits comfortably. A4 documents can fit horizontally but will be a snug fit; we recommend a slim folder to keep edges neat. A 13-inch laptop generally does not fit, while an 11-inch tablet typically fits when placed horizontally without a bulky case. If you’d like, we can do a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody, and is the strap adjustable or removable?
A: Yes—this model is designed for crossbody or shoulder wear with an adjustable flat strap (approx. 50 cm drop on this piece). The strap is typically adjustable but not designed to be detached. If you’d like precise drop measurements or strap hole count for this bag, just ask and we’ll confirm.

Q: How secure is the closure and what is the interior layout?
A: The Leoh Messenger features a zip‑top main compartment for everyday security, a front exterior zipped pocket for quick‑access items, and a black textile‑lined interior with multiple pockets (zip and slip) to keep belongings organised. Our photos show the exact layout of this item.

Q: What are the materials and finish?
A: Damier Graphite coated canvas with black leather trim and silver‑tone hardware, lined in black textile. Coated canvas is lightweight and hard‑wearing, while the structured rectangular shape helps the bag hold its form in daily use.

Q: Is the Leoh Messenger still produced?
A: The Leoh in Damier Graphite is generally considered a discontinued/vintage style originating around the 2008 era. Availability today is primarily through the pre‑loved market rather than Louis Vuitton boutiques.

Q: Will it fit an iPad or e‑reader?
A: Most compact tablets and 11‑inch class devices fit when placed horizontally without a bulky case. Wider protective cases and keyboards may make the fit tight at the zip opening. Share your device’s dimensions and we’ll test in this exact bag.

Q: How should I care for Damier Graphite canvas, leather trim and hardware?
A: Wipe coated canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild soap only if needed; avoid harsh or alcohol‑based cleaners. Keep away from prolonged sunlight and abrasive surfaces. For the black leather trim, wipe with a soft dry cloth and condition sparingly with a quality neutral product (test first). Store upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag; avoid hanging the strap long‑term. Hardware will acquire fine hairline scratches with normal use—minimise contact with hard surfaces.

Q: What does the date code AR2068 indicate?
A: For codes from this era, the numerals follow a week‑and‑year format: the first and third digits indicate the week, and the second and fourth the year. “2068” corresponds to the 26th week of 2008. The letters are internal factory codes. Note that from around 2021 Louis Vuitton transitioned from visible date codes to embedded microchips; date codes assist with dating but are not by themselves proof of authenticity.

Q: Is the bag heavy to carry?
A: The coated‑canvas construction keeps weight manageable for all‑day crossbody use, while the broad, flat strap helps distribute weight. If you’re sensitive to weight, we can provide the exact scale weight for this individual piece on request.

Q: What accessories are included and how is authenticity ensured?
A: This listing states no accessories. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts—assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and production codes, and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of every piece we sell.
