OmegaConstellation 24mm Ca 1998 Watch

Q: What model is this watch, and when was it made?
A: This is an Omega Constellation, reference 1561.71.00, dated approximately 1998. Its country of origin is Switzerland; the year is an estimate rather than an exact production date.

Q: What size is the watch, and what wrist will it fit?
A: The case diameter is listed as 24 mm. The bracelet fits a wrist measuring 17 cm or smaller. Check your wrist circumference before purchasing, particularly if you prefer a looser fit.

Q: Is this Omega Constellation quartz or automatic?
A: Reference 1561.71.00 uses the battery-powered Omega calibre 1456 quartz movement. It does not require winding or a watch winder.

Q: What are the case, bracelet and crystal made from?
A: OMEGA specifies a steel case and steel bracelet for this reference, with a domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Scratch-resistant does not mean completely scratch-proof.

Q: What colour is the dial?
A: The product information lists the dial colour as mother-of-pearl, giving this watch a soft, pearlescent appearance.

Q: What condition is this pre-owned watch in?
A: It is graded Very Good Condition. The exterior shows light traces of use, with scratches and marks on the case and bracelet. The internal condition is also rated Very Good; this grading does not confirm a recent service or battery replacement.

Q: Does the watch come with a box, papers or spare links?
A: No accessories are included according to the product information. A box, papers and spare bracelet links are therefore not included.

Q: Can I swim or shower while wearing it?
A: Current water resistance and a recent pressure test are not confirmed in the product information. OMEGA notes that seals can deteriorate with age, so do not assume this vintage watch is suitable for swimming or showering. Keep it out of water unless an authorised service centre has checked it and advised on suitable use.

Q: When will the battery need replacing, and has the watch been serviced?
A: The product information does not state the last battery replacement or service date, so the remaining battery life is unknown. Arrange battery replacement through an OMEGA authorised service centre and ask for the seals and water resistance to be checked. OMEGA generally recommends a complete service every five to eight years, depending on use and environment.

Q: How should I care for this vintage Omega Constellation?
A: Handle it gently and avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents, perfume and cosmetics, which OMEGA warns may damage the case, bracelet or seals. As this watch’s current water resistance is unconfirmed, avoid immersing it for cleaning.
