Saint LaurentEnvelope Wallet on Chain

Q: What typically fits inside the Saint Laurent Envelope Wallet on Chain?
A: With approximate dimensions of 22 x 15 x 4 cm, it is well suited to essentials such as a phone, cards, folded notes, keys, lipstick and a few small daily items. It is compact rather than oversized, so bulkier pieces such as large purses, sunglasses cases or chargers may make it feel full quite quickly.

Q: Can it be used as both a wallet and a small bag?
A: Yes. This style combines wallet-style organisation with a compact chain bag silhouette, making it ideal when you want to carry just the essentials without needing a larger handbag.

Q: Will it fit a phone?
A: Most modern smartphones should fit comfortably inside this piece, especially without a very bulky case. If you carry a larger phone together with keys and cosmetics, packing lightly will give the best fit.

Q: How can it be carried?
A: This item features a chain shoulder strap with an approximate drop of 49 cm. For most people that makes it best suited to shoulder wear, while on some frames it may also sit as a shorter crossbody. Fit will vary depending on height and personal styling preference.

Q: What is the interior like?
A: According to the product information, the interior is lined in black leather and fabric and includes card slots plus an internal zip pocket. This makes it easy to organise cards, cash and smaller valuables separately.

Q: What condition is this pre-owned piece in?
A: The overall condition is rated Very Good. The exterior has slightly scuffed corners and small marks, the interior shows light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Please review the photos closely for the best impression of the current condition.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: No additional items are listed with this piece. If a box, card, dust bag or other extras are not shown in the product information, they are not included.

Q: How should I care for the yellow quilted leather?
A: To help preserve the leather, avoid overfilling, moisture, rough surfaces and prolonged direct sunlight. Store it in a cool, dry place, ideally supported to help maintain its shape, and wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after use. As with many lighter or brighter leathers, it is wise to be mindful of colour transfer from dark clothing.

Q: How do you authenticate Saint Laurent items?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is checked by specialists using details such as materials, construction, stitching, hardware and brand markings. We stand behind the authenticity of the pieces we sell, including this vintage Saint Laurent item.
