Bottega VenetaIntrecciato Waist Bag

Q: What typically fits inside this Bottega Veneta Intrecciato waist bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 30 × 20 × 5 cm, it comfortably holds a large smartphone, compact wallet or card holder, passport, keys and small daily essentials. There is one internal slip pocket for cards or receipts. It is not designed to carry a standard water bottle or a full-size tablet; capacity will vary slightly depending on how you pack.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody as a sling?
A: Yes. The adjustable fabric waist strap allows you to wear it around the waist or across the chest/back if the strap length suits your frame. The exact strap range for this piece is not specified; if you plan to wear it crossbody, please compare the bag’s dimensions with your preferred strap drop or contact us for guidance.

Q: What is Intrecciato and why is it special?
A: Intrecciato is Bottega Veneta’s signature leather-weaving technique, introduced in the 1970s. Artisans weave leather strips to create a supple, durable surface with a refined, logo-free look. The weave gives a soft hand while retaining structure, but like all woven leather it should not be overfilled to avoid stretching the pattern.

Q: Is the leather waterproof?
A: Natural leather is not fully waterproof. Light moisture can often be wiped away, but prolonged exposure to rain can lead to darkening, stiffness or water marks. If the bag gets wet, blot gently with a soft cloth and let it air-dry away from heat sources. Consider a light, leather-safe protectant if desired, testing first on an inconspicuous area.

Q: How should I care for and store this bag?
A: Wipe the leather occasionally with a clean, soft cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners, oils or alcohol-based wipes. Keep away from colour-transfer risks (for example, fresh dark denim). When not in use, store the bag loosely stuffed to maintain shape, in a breathable dust bag, out of direct sunlight and humidity. Do not overfill the bag to preserve the integrity of the woven leather.

Q: How do you authenticate this vintage Bottega Veneta piece?
A: Our specialists verify materials, weaving, heat stamps, construction, hardware and interior tags before listing. Many Bottega Veneta bags feature a small white fabric originality tag sewn into a pocket, with “Bottega Veneta Made in Italy” on one side and model/production information on the reverse; some small leather goods or certain models may not include this tag. We stand behind the authenticity of every item we sell and can share additional photos on request.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information section on this page. For this listing, no additional items are noted beyond the bag itself. If a dust bag or box is not listed in the product information, it is not included.

Q: What are the key features of this specific bag?
A: Black Intrecciato and smooth leather with dark-toned hardware, an adjustable fabric waist strap, taupe fabric lining with one internal slip pocket, and a secure zip closure. This piece is vintage.

Q: How would you describe the condition?
A: Overall good vintage condition with scuff marks on the corners, light signs of use inside, and hardware that remains shiny with minor surface scratches. Please review all photos for a close-up view of wear before purchasing.

Q: Is it unisex?
A: Yes. The minimalist design and adjustable strap make this waist bag easy to style for any gender, whether worn at the waist or across the body.
