CelineMedium Classic Box Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Céline Medium Classic Box?
A: It’s ideal for refined daily essentials: a large smartphone, compact or continental wallet (a long wallet fits but reduces capacity), keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, a small cosmetics pouch and travel cards. Because capacity varies slightly by piece and by how you organise it, please compare your items with the Measurements on this page (approx. 23.5 × 19 × 5 cm for this exact bag) or ask us for a tailored fit check.

Q: Will it fit a tablet or a water bottle?
A: An iPad mini–sized tablet or an A5 diary typically fits. Larger tablets (11-inch) and A4 documents usually do not. A 500 ml bottle won’t stand upright; laid horizontally it may distort the structured shape, so we don’t recommend it for regular carry.

Q: Is the strap adjustable and removable? Can I wear it crossbody?
A: Yes. The leather strap is both adjustable and detachable, allowing comfortable shoulder carry and a higher crossbody fit depending on your height and outerwear. We list the strap drop for this exact piece under Measurements; if you’d like, we can measure the other holes/settings for you.

Q: How is the interior organised?
A: The Medium Classic Box features an accordion-style interior that keeps items neatly separated—multiple compartments with a zipped pocket and slip sections for small essentials. Our listing photos show the exact layout for this piece.

Q: How secure and easy is the closure?
A: It has a metal push‑lock clasp for quick, secure access. To minimise surface marks, press the push tab to open/close rather than sliding the plate across the leather, and avoid contact with keys or jewellery near the clasp.

Q: What leather is used and does it scratch easily?
A: Most Classic Box bags, including this one, are crafted in smooth “box” calfskin with a leather lining. This luxurious, polished leather can show fine scratches and will develop a graceful patina over time—part of the bag’s character. Light surface marks can often be gently buffed with a clean, soft cloth; deeper marks may require a professional leather specialist.

Q: Any care tips for box calf and hardware?
A: Keep the bag away from moisture and liquids (including hand sanitiser and perfume), and be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim or new textiles. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth; condition smooth leather very sparingly and only after testing on a discreet area. Store it lightly stuffed, upright, in a breathable dust bag. Pad or wrap the strap and clasp during storage to minimise imprints and hairline scratches.

Q: Is the Medium Classic Box still produced?
A: Yes—the Medium remains part of Celine’s current line‑up, though colours and hardware finishes vary by season and boutique. The pre‑loved market is often the best route to specific shades like red.

Q: Where are the brand markings located?
A: Authentic examples typically feature “CELINE” branding visible only when the bag is open—one mark inside the metal closure and another embossed on the leather—along with a “Made in Italy” stamp. We’re happy to provide close‑ups for this item on request.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: For this piece we include: detachable shoulder strap, brand booklets and tags (see Accessories on this page). Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts before listing; we stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
