ChanelParis-Biarritz Hobo Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel Paris‑Biarritz Hobo?
A: As a compact hobo, it comfortably carries daily essentials: a smartphone (including most Pro/Max models, though very bulky cases may be snug), a continental wallet or cardholder, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, lipstick, and a small cosmetics pouch. An A5 diary generally fits; a small water bottle may fit depending on the shape. Capacity can vary with the curved zip opening—please refer to the Measurements on this page or contact us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit a tablet or laptop?
A: Smaller tablets (e.g., iPad mini) typically fit. Standard 10–11‑inch tablets can be a squeeze due to the hobo silhouette and zip opening; a 13‑inch laptop is generally not recommended. Compare your device’s dimensions with the Measurements shown, or ask us to perform a quick fit check for this item.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable, and can I wear it crossbody?
A: The flat leather shoulder strap on this model is detachable but not adjustable. It’s designed for shoulder carry; with the listed drop it usually sits too high to be worn comfortably crossbody. We’ll note handle/strap drops under Measurements—if anything’s missing, just ask and we’ll confirm for you.

Q: How secure is the closure and what pockets does it have?
A: The Paris‑Biarritz Hobo features a zip‑top main compartment with a CC zip pull, offering good everyday security. The interior on this piece includes two pockets, ideal for organising smaller essentials. Please review our photos and description for the exact layout of this bag.

Q: What materials and hardware does this model use?
A: Paris‑Biarritz styles are known for mixed materials and a subtly sporty‑chic look. This piece is crafted in quilted leather with canvas trim, textile lining, metal hardware and protective metal feet at the base. The listing specifies the exact finish and country of origin (Made in Italy) for this bag.

Q: How should I care for the leather and canvas trim?
A: Keep the bag away from moisture, oils and prolonged sunlight, and be mindful of colour transfer (especially from dark denim on lighter leathers/canvas). Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Use a high‑quality neutral leather conditioner very sparingly on smooth leather (test first on a discreet area); avoid harsh cleaners on canvas. Store it lightly stuffed, upright, in a breathable dust bag, and protect the strap and hardware from rubbing to minimise imprints and hairline scratches.

Q: Is the Paris‑Biarritz line still produced?
A: The Paris‑Biarritz line was introduced in the mid‑2000s and many styles are now discontinued. The pre‑loved market is the best way to find specific configurations and colours like this hobo.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes located, and how is dating handled?
A: Authentic Chanel bags feature interior brand stamps (e.g., “CHANEL” and country of origin). Vintage/older pieces include a hologram serial sticker and may come with an authenticity card. This bag’s serial begins with 11, dating it to approximately 2006–2008; placement and format can vary by era. We’re happy to share close‑up photos and help with dating on request.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: Any included items (e.g., dust bag, booklet, authenticity card, detachable strap) are listed under “Accessories.” If an accessory isn’t mentioned there, it isn’t included—feel free to ask us to confirm. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, serial sticker/microchip and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all pieces we sell.

Q: What is the condition of this specific bag?
A: Overall: Very Good. Exterior: Very Good with a worn leather strap and a tear at the top. Interior: Very Good with slight traces of use and a vintage smell. Hardware: Shiny with scratches. Please inspect our detailed photos and notes; we’re happy to provide extra images or clarifications on request.
