Christian DiorCards Heart Long Necklace

Q: How long is the necklace and how will it sit when worn?
A: The chain measures approximately 100 cm in perimeter (about 39.4 inches), which wears as a long sautoir. It typically falls around the mid‑torso when worn as a single strand and can also be doubled to create a shorter layered look.

Q: Is this Dior necklace solid gold?
A: Dior fashion jewellery is usually crafted from gold‑tone plated metal (often brass) rather than solid gold. Dior’s fine jewellery lines are made from precious metals, but fashion pieces like this one have a plated finish that gives the yellow‑gold look.

Q: Can I adjust or shorten the length?
A: It closes with a lobster clasp. There is no dedicated extender on this model, but you can wear it long, double‑wrap it, or use a double‑ended clasp/shortener to temporarily reduce the drop. A professional jeweller can shorten it permanently if desired.

Q: How should I care for vintage gold‑tone Dior jewellery?
A: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after each wear, and avoid moisture, perfumes, lotions, hairspray and household chemicals. Store it separately in a soft pouch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. These habits help preserve the plating and shine.

Q: Can I shower, swim or work out while wearing it?
A: It’s best to remove fashion jewellery before showering, swimming or exercise. Water, soaps, chlorine and sweat can dull or accelerate wear to gold‑tone plating and may weaken joins over time.

Q: Will the gold‑tone finish tarnish or wear off?
A: All plated finishes can show wear with time, especially on high‑friction areas. Minimise contact with cosmetics, rotate your wear, and store it carefully. If needed in future, many specialists can re‑plate fashion jewellery; feasibility depends on the base metal and any stones.

Q: How can I confirm it’s authentic Dior?
A: Authentic Dior costume jewellery typically has a signature on the clasp or a small tag, such as “Chr. Dior” or “Christian Dior”, sometimes with a copyright symbol and, on certain pieces, a year or country of manufacture. A Retro Tale thoroughly inspects materials, construction, signatures and overall workmanship and stands behind the authenticity of every item we sell.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin or nickel allergies?
A: Fashion jewellery can contain base metals and may release trace nickel within regulated limits. If you are sensitive, consider wearing it over fabric, minimise prolonged moisture/sweat exposure, and discontinue use if irritation occurs. A dermatologist can advise on patch testing or barrier products.

Q: What is included with my purchase?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. For this piece, no additional items are listed in the product information.

Q: Any styling tips for this design?
A: Its sautoir length and playful heart, card and “D” logo charms make it easy to wear long over knitwear or dresses, or doubled with shorter chains for a layered look. A layering clasp can help keep multiple chains from tangling.
