Necklace perimeter

Q: How long is the necklace, and where will it sit?
A: The necklace perimeter is 46 cm, which is approximately 18 inches. On most people this sits around the collarbone area, but the exact fit can vary depending on neck size and personal preference.

Q: Is the length adjustable?
A: No extender is listed for this piece. It closes with a lobster clasp, so we recommend using the stated 46 cm perimeter as your main fit guide.

Q: Is this a delicate necklace or a bold statement piece?
A: This is designed as a bold statement necklace. The chunky chain construction and approximate 5 cm width at its widest point give it a strong visual presence.

Please note that the majority of our items are vintage and therefore have tales to tell unless stated otherwise. Therefore, please look at pictures, descriptions and measurements provided as they give you the best idea of the story this item has to tell.

* Please note that when you buy a vintage product, the dimensions may vary slightly from a new one depending on previous care and storage.

Q: What materials and design details does this necklace feature?
A: This vintage Dolce & Gabbana necklace combines gold-tone hardware with a chunky chain made of alternating textured metal and brown wooden links. It is finished with a wooden DG logo charm and a lobster clasp closure.

Q: What condition is the necklace in?
A: It is listed in Very Good condition with light traces of use. The hardware remains shiny with light surface scratches, which is consistent with careful vintage wear.

Q: What is included with the necklace?
A: A box is included. If any other item is not listed under the product information, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How should I style a chunky wood and gold-tone necklace?
A: This style works especially well with simple necklines such as crew, scoop, open-collar and V-neck tops. Because it is a focal piece, it usually looks best with minimal additional jewellery.

Q: How should I care for the wood and gold-tone elements?
A: Wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear and store it in a dry place, ideally in its box. Avoid water, perfume, lotions, harsh cleaning products and prolonged direct heat, as these can affect both the wooden links and the gold-tone finish.

Q: Is this suitable for everyday wear?
A: It can certainly be worn regularly, but as a vintage mixed-material necklace it is best treated with a little extra care. Mindful wear will help preserve the wood, finish and clasp over time.

Q: Is this an authentic Dolce & Gabbana piece?
A: Yes, it is sold as an authentic vintage Dolce & Gabbana necklace and has been checked by A Retro Tale before listing.
