FendiPequin Mini Boston Bag

Q: What are the dimensions and how does it carry?
A: The bag measures approximately 27 × 15 × 14 cm with a handle drop of about 12 cm. It is designed to be carried by hand or in the crook of the arm. This piece does not include a shoulder strap or crossbody option.

Q: What typically fits inside the Pequin Mini Boston?
A: Daily essentials such as a smartphone, long wallet, keys, sunglasses in a soft case, a small cosmetics pouch, and a passport. It will not fit A4 documents or a standard laptop; compact tablets may be too tall due to the curved zip opening. Please refer to the Measurements above to compare with your items.

Q: What is Fendi’s Pequin pattern?
A: Pequin is Fendi’s signature vertical stripe motif in tobacco brown and black, introduced in the 1980s. It became a house classic across handbags and travel pieces and is closely associated with vintage Fendi designs.

Q: Is the coated canvas water-resistant?
A: Yes, coated canvas is naturally water-resistant and easy to wipe clean, but it is not fully waterproof. Avoid soaking or prolonged rain; blot spills promptly and allow the bag to air-dry away from heat sources.

Q: How should I care for the materials?
A: For coated canvas, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild soap if needed; avoid harsh chemicals or alcohol. For the leather trim, use a small amount of neutral leather conditioner sparingly and keep away from excessive moisture. Store the bag stuffed to hold its shape, in a breathable dust bag, and out of direct sunlight to minimise colour fading and drying.

Q: Does this item come with accessories?
A: No. This listing includes the bag only; no accessories are included. Anything included would be shown under Accessories on this page.

Q: How do you authenticate this vintage Fendi piece?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is vetted by our in-house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, heat stamps and serials where present. Note that Fendi began using hologram security labels around 2004 (moving to RFID in the 2010s), so their absence is normal on earlier vintage pieces. Serial number formats and placement vary by era and model.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: Very Good vintage condition. The exterior shows a light trace of use; the interior has light marks on the lining; the gold‑toned hardware is shiny with minor scratches. Please review the photos for a precise view of wear.

Q: Where is it made?
A: Italy. The bag carries a Made in Italy label consistent with Fendi’s production.

Q: Can I add a strap to wear it crossbody?
A: This model is intended as a handheld Boston bag and this piece does not include a strap. We do not recommend third‑party conversions that clip to the handles, as they may stress the leather and hardware over time.
