Q: How long is the Hermès Farandole Long Necklace, 160?
A: This necklace measures 160 cm in total length. The number refers to the full chain length, not how far it hangs below your neck; the drop depends on how you style it.

Q: Can I wear this necklace doubled or tripled?
A: Yes, the 160 cm length offers scope for a long single strand, two loops or three shorter layers. The fit of each arrangement depends on your neck size and preferred spacing. Ensure the necklace sits comfortably without pulling on the links.

Q: What is distinctive about the Farandole design?
A: The Farandole draws on Hermès’ nautical Chaîne d’ancre motif, combining anchor-shaped links in different sizes along a finer chain. This creates its recognisable, open linked design.

Please note that the majority of our items are vintage and therefore have tales to tell unless stated otherwise. Therefore, please look at pictures, descriptions and measurements provided as they give you the best idea of the story this item has to tell.

* Please note that when you buy a vintage product, the dimensions may vary slightly from a new one depending on previous care and storage.

Q: How long is the Hermès Farandole Long Necklace, 160?
A: This necklace measures 160 cm in total length. The number refers to the full chain length, not how far it hangs below your neck; the drop depends on how you style it.

Q: What is the Farandole 160 made from?
A: Hermès specifies the silver Farandole Long Necklace 160 as sterling silver, with a fineness of 925/1000. This means it contains 92.5% silver. This piece is listed in a silver colour.

Q: What condition is this particular necklace in?
A: This pre-owned necklace is listed as being in Very Good Condition. Its finish is described as shiny with light scratches, so it is not an unworn or scratch-free piece. Please review the product photographs for its visible appearance.

Q: Does this necklace come with an original box or other accessories?
A: No accessories are included with this piece, as stated in the product information. An original Hermès box, pouch or polishing cloth is therefore not included.

Q: Can sterling silver Farandole necklaces tarnish?
A: Yes. Sterling silver can naturally tarnish over time, and tarnishing alone is not evidence of a defect. Hermès recommends protecting silver jewellery from humidity and intense heat, and gently buffing fingerprints or slight tarnishing with a soft, clean cloth.

Q: How should I clean and store this necklace?
A: Gently wipe it with a soft, clean cloth and store it separately in a soft pouch in a dry place away from intense heat. Avoid rubbing aggressively or pulling on the chain. For substantial tarnishing, seek advice from an Hermès boutique rather than using harsh cleaning treatments.

Q: Where was this necklace made?
A: The product information lists France as the country of origin.
