HermèsJige PM Clutch

Q: What size is the Hermès Jige PM Clutch?
A: This Hermès Jige PM Clutch measures approximately 29 x 19 x 3 cm. It is the classic larger flat clutch format in the Jige family, offering a sleek silhouette while still giving enough room for daily or evening essentials.

Q: What typically fits inside this clutch?
A: With its 29 cm width, it will generally fit a phone, cardholder or slim wallet, keys, lipstick, and a few small essentials. It is best suited to slim items rather than bulky pouches, large purses, or anything very thick, as the profile is intentionally flat.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: No. The Jige PM is designed to be carried by hand as a clutch. This specific item does not include a strap and there are no strap attachments listed in the product information.

Q: How is the inside organised?
A: This piece has a beige canvas lining with one main compartment. It is a simple, elegant interior designed for essentials rather than multiple compartments or zipped sections.

Q: Is the Hermès Jige PM suitable for daytime as well as evening use?
A: Yes. The Jige is widely loved as a day-to-night clutch thanks to its clean, minimal design and understated tuck-in strap closure. In black, this piece is especially versatile and can work for lunch, events, dinners, and more formal occasions.

Q: What does the Circle T 1990 stamp mean?
A: The Circle T stamp indicates the year of production and means this clutch dates to 1990. That makes this a genuine vintage Hermès piece from the early 1990s.

Q: What condition is this particular item in?
A: This clutch is listed in good condition overall. The exterior leather shows visible scratches and scuffing on the corners, the inside lining has stains, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. As a vintage item, these signs of wear are important to expect and review in the photos.

Q: Does this item come with any original product information?
A: No. This item is listed as coming with no additional product information, so no box, dust bag, or other extras are included unless otherwise stated.

Q: How should I care for this vintage leather clutch?
A: Store it in a dry, temperate place away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Avoid overfilling it so the silhouette stays neat, and keep it away from ink, perfume, makeup, and oily products that can mark the leather or lining. If it gets wet, gently dab it dry with a soft cloth and allow it to dry naturally. For deeper cleaning or restoration, professional leather care is recommended.

Q: How do you authenticate this Hermès clutch?
A: At A Retro Tale, pre-owned luxury items are carefully checked for overall craftsmanship, materials, stitching, hardware details, logo stamping, and date stamp consistency before being listed. For this piece, the Circle T stamp, construction details, and overall design are all important parts of that assessment.
