Louis VuittonDamier Ebene Speedy Bandolier 30

Q: What can the Speedy Bandoulière 30 hold day to day?
A: With approximate dimensions of 30 × 21 × 17 cm, it comfortably fits a long wallet, phone, keys, make-up pouch, small water bottle, compact umbrella, and an iPad or similar tablet. It does not comfortably fit an A4 folder flat, and while some users report squeezing a 13-inch laptop in diagonally, this can strain the canvas and is not recommended for regular use.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody and on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The Bandoulière version includes a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap for hands-free wear in addition to dual rolled handles for handheld carry. On this piece, the strap drop is approximately 55 cm and the handle drop is about 9 cm, based on our measurements.

Q: What is the difference between the classic Speedy and the Speedy Bandoulière?
A: Both share the iconic shape and zip-top design. The Bandoulière adds side D-rings and a detachable strap so you can wear it on the shoulder or crossbody, offering more versatility for everyday use.

Q: Is Damier Ebene canvas durable and water-resistant?
A: Louis Vuitton’s coated canvas is known for being hard-wearing and water-resistant, making it suitable for daily use. However, it is not waterproof; avoid soaking the bag and wipe away moisture promptly. The dark brown leather trim on Damier Ebene is treated and generally more tolerant of light rain than untreated vachetta.

Q: How should I care for this bag?
A: Wipe the coated canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it gently. Avoid oils, solvents, and alcohol-based products. Keep the bag away from prolonged direct sunlight and heat. When storing, loosely stuff it to maintain shape and place it in a breathable dust bag; avoid hanging it by the handles for long periods.

Q: What does the date code TR2124 mean?
A: TR indicates manufacture in France. The numbers show the production week and year in the modern format: 2124 corresponds to the 22nd week of 2014. Note that date codes are not unique serial numbers and are only one small part of authentication.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information for this page. For this piece, that is the dust bag, padlock, keys, and detachable shoulder strap. If an item is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: Is this bag authentic?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes a rigorous multi-point inspection by our in‑house experts, including checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, and date codes. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional photos or details on request.

Q: The condition notes mention a slight vintage smell—any tips?
A: Lightly air the bag in a cool, dry room away from direct sunlight. You can place odour-absorbing sachets (unscented) inside for a few days and repeat as needed. Avoid spraying perfume or harsh deodorisers directly onto the canvas or lining.
