Louis VuittonMonogram Keepall 55 Weekend Bag

Q: What are the measurements of this Louis Vuitton Keepall 55?
A: This particular bag measures approximately 57 cm wide, 29 cm high and 25 cm deep. These are the measurements listed for this pre-owned piece, rather than the standard dimensions of a new Keepall 55.

Q: What can I pack inside this bag?
A: The Keepall 55 is a spacious weekend bag suitable for several outfits, toiletries, a pair of shoes and travel essentials. The amount it holds depends on the bulk of your belongings and how you pack; avoid overfilling it to help preserve its shape.

Q: Can I use this Keepall 55 as cabin luggage?
A: Louis Vuitton describes the Keepall 55 as a cabin-size model, but acceptance is not guaranteed for every airline. This particular piece is listed as 57 × 29 × 25 cm, so check those measurements and the packed bag’s weight against your airline’s allowance before travelling.

Q: Does this bag come with a shoulder strap?
A: No shoulder strap is listed in the product information. This is the classic Keepall 55 rather than the Keepall Bandoulière, and it is intended to be carried by its two top handles.

Q: Is the Monogram exterior leather or canvas?
A: The classic Monogram Keepall has a coated canvas body with natural cowhide leather handles and trim. The leather on this piece is identified as Vachetta in the condition description; the patterned canvas itself is not leather.

Q: What condition is this particular bag in?
A: It is graded Good Condition. The Vachetta leather has a visible patina, with watermarks and scuffing on the base and trim. The interior is in good condition with light traces of use, while the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: Why has the Vachetta leather darkened?
A: Vachetta is natural, untreated leather that develops a darker patina with time and use. This piece already has a visible patina, alongside the watermarks and scuffing described in the product information.

Q: Which items are included with the bag?
A: The product information lists a luggage tag, a poignet (handle keeper) and a padlock. A key, shoulder strap, dust bag and box are not listed, so please confirm with A Retro Tale if any of these are important to you.

Q: How should I care for this pre-owned Monogram Keepall?
A: Keep it away from water, abrasive surfaces, direct heat and prolonged sunlight. If the Vachetta leather gets wet, blot it promptly with a soft, light-coloured, lint-free cloth. Avoid solvents, oils and home cleaning treatments on the leather. Store the bag in a breathable protective pouch in a ventilated space, and avoid overpacking.

Q: Where was this bag made, and is its production date known?
A: The country-of-origin label is France. No serial number was found in the supplied product information, so a specific production date cannot be confirmed from the available details.
