ChanelClassic Medium Double Flap

Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel Classic Medium Double Flap?
A: This medium size is ideal for daily essentials such as a phone, card holder or small wallet, keys, lipstick, sunglasses and a few compact extras. Because this is a double flap style, the interior is more structured than an open single-compartment bag, so capacity is best for essentials rather than bulky items. Please refer to the measurements on this page for exact dimensions: 25.5 x 16 x 7 cm.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: Yes. The leather-interwoven chain allows it to be worn doubled on the shoulder or single for a longer drop. For this specific bag, the strap drop is approximately 25 cm doubled and 43 cm single. Depending on your height and styling preference, the single-chain carry may sit as a long shoulder bag rather than a true crossbody fit.

Q: Is the medium size a good everyday Chanel flap?
A: Yes, the medium double flap is one of the most popular Chanel sizes because it balances elegance and practicality. It works well from day to evening and holds more than smaller flap sizes, while still remaining refined and structured.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: This piece is in Very Good Condition. The exterior and interior show light marks and scratches, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. This means it has been gently used and presents very well, with normal signs of wear consistent with careful previous ownership.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This bag includes a box and dust bag. Everything included with the item is listed in the product information. If something is not listed there, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: What does the serial number indicate?
A: The serial number begins with 25 and the product data identifies it as a 2018 piece. On Chanel bags from this era, the serial sticker is one of several details used to help place the bag within its production period.

Q: Is this an authentic Chanel bag?
A: Yes. Every item sold by A Retro Tale is carefully authenticated by in-house experts using a multi-point review of construction, materials, hardware, stamps and serial details. We stand behind the authenticity of the pieces we offer.

Q: How should I care for and store a Chanel Double Flap bag?
A: Store it in its dust bag and box in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Lightly stuff the interior to help maintain the shape, avoid overfilling, and keep the chain from pressing against the leather during storage. For routine care, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaning products.

Q: Is a double flap heavier or more structured than other flap bags?
A: Yes. The double flap construction gives the bag its iconic structure and added security, but it also makes it feel a little more substantial than simpler flap styles. Many collectors love this design for its classic silhouette and organised feel, even though it slightly reduces interior capacity.
