ChanelCoco Mark Stud Earrings

Q: Are these Chanel Coco Mark Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What are they made from? Are they real gold or solid silver?
A: Chanel fashion (costume) jewellery is typically crafted from plated base metal in a gold‑ or silver‑tone finish, sometimes with glass, resin or crystal details. It is not solid precious metal unless explicitly stated as part of Chanel’s Fine Jewellery line. Please review our close‑up photos and contact us if you’d like us to confirm composition specifics for this pair.

Q: How big are they and how will they look on the ear?
A: Approximate measurements are 2 cm (height) × 2 cm (width) × 1 cm (depth). As round CC logo studs with a rope‑twist motif, they read as a refined, medium‑scale statement on most earlobes—ideal for everyday wear or dressing up.

Q: How do they fasten and are the backs secure?
A: They feature a post‑back (butterfly/friction) closure typical of Chanel studs. Ensure the backs are fully seated before wear. If you prefer extra support, consider larger disc backs or silicone stabilisers behind the lobe.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears? Are they nickel‑free?
A: Vintage and fashion jewellery may contain nickel or other alloys. If you have metal sensitivities, we recommend limiting wear time at first, using a clear barrier product on the post, or opting for protective disc/silicone backs. Discontinue use if irritation occurs and contact us for guidance.

Q: Can I wear them in the shower, swimming, at the gym or to sleep?
A: We recommend removing them before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping. Moisture, sweat and friction can accelerate wear to plated finishes and sleeping can stress posts and backs.

Q: How should I care for the plated finish to keep it looking its best?
A: Keep them dry and avoid direct contact with perfume, hair spray, lotions and hand sanitiser. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips. Store individually in a soft pouch or box away from humidity and direct sunlight.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on Chanel earrings?
A: Most Chanel costume earrings carry an oval or round plaque stamped CHANEL, often with “Made in France/Italy” and a season code; some later styles may have laser‑etched marks. Placement varies by era and style (e.g., on the back plate or post). Our listing photos show any stamps present on this pair.

Q: Can they be repaired or replated if the finish wears?
A: Light tightening of posts/backs is usually straightforward for a competent jeweller. Replating of costume jewellery is sometimes possible through specialist workshops, but results vary depending on the base metal and may soften detail; it can also affect originality and resale value. We don’t offer in‑house modifications but can suggest reputable specialists on request.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return them?
A: They are in Very Good Condition with minor signs of careful wear possible. This listing includes no accessories unless specifically shown or noted. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
