ChanelLarge Quilted Suede Camera Bag

Q: What fits inside this Chanel Large Quilted Suede Camera Bag?
A: With dimensions of approximately 27 × 20 × 8 cm, this Large model offers generous capacity for a vintage camera style. It typically fits a large smartphone, a continental (full-length) wallet, a sunglasses case, keys and a cosmetics pouch. The exterior slip pockets provide convenient access to slim items like tickets or a phone. Please refer to the Measurements on this page or contact us for a tailored fit check.

Q: Can I wear this bag crossbody?
A: The single flat shoulder strap measures approximately 80 cm. This length is designed for comfortable shoulder carry (sitting under the arm or at the hip depending on your height) but is generally too short to be worn crossbody by most adults.

Q: How should I care for the vintage suede?
A: Suede is soft and luxurious but requires more care than smooth leather. Keep the bag away from water, moisture and oils to prevent staining. We recommend using a soft suede brush gently to remove surface dust and revive the nap. Be mindful of colour transfer from dark fabrics (such as denim) and store the bag in a breathable dust bag when not in use.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The bag features a zip-top closure that spans the width of the bag, offering excellent security for your belongings. It is finished with a signature tassel zip pull for ease of grip and a classic vintage aesthetic.

Q: When was this bag manufactured?
A: This specific piece retains its serial sticker with the code 2558106. This places it in the Chanel 2-series, indicating it was manufactured approximately between 1991 and 1994.

Q: Does it have pockets for organisation?
A: Yes, in addition to the main compartment, this model features one internal zipped pocket for valuables and two external slip pockets (one front, one back) for items you need to access quickly.

Q: What is the condition of the hardware?
A: This vintage piece features gold-tone hardware. As noted in the condition description, the hardware is "Shiny with light scratches," which is typical for a well-preserved item of this era.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, serial numbers and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: What accessories are included?
A: Any included items are listed under the "Accessories" section. For this piece, the serial number tag is present inside the bag. If a dust bag or authenticity card is not listed there, please assume it is not included.
