PradaTessuto Backpack

Q: What typically fits inside this Prada Tessuto Backpack?
A: With approximate dimensions of 32 x 24 x 12 cm, it is best suited to daily essentials such as a phone, purse, keys, sunglasses, a small cosmetics pouch, a compact umbrella, and a tablet or e-reader. It works well as a compact day backpack rather than an oversized travel bag. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Will this backpack fit a laptop?
A: It is better suited to smaller tech such as a tablet or compact notebook. Most 13-inch laptops are likely to be too wide for this shape, so we recommend comparing your device measurements carefully with the bag dimensions before purchasing.

Q: How many pockets does this bag have?
A: This backpack features one external front pocket, two external side pockets, and one internal zip pocket, in addition to the main compartment. This makes it easy to organise smaller essentials while keeping the main section free for everyday items.

Q: Are the shoulder straps adjustable?
A: Yes, this style has adjustable shoulder straps for a more flexible fit, along with a top handle for carrying by hand when preferred.

Q: What is Tessuto nylon, and is it durable?
A: Tessuto is Prada’s signature nylon textile, known for being lightweight, practical, and durable. Prada nylon backpacks are part of the house’s long-standing design heritage and are especially appreciated for their low weight and everyday usability. As this is a vintage piece, it should still be treated with normal care and not exposed to unnecessary strain or prolonged moisture.

Q: Is this backpack waterproof?
A: Prada nylon is generally more resistant to light rain and daily wear than many delicate fabrics, but vintage nylon bags should not be treated as fully waterproof. We recommend avoiding heavy rain, soaking, or long exposure to damp conditions in order to preserve both the textile and leather trim.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Prada nylon backpack?
A: For routine care, gently wipe the nylon with a soft cloth and keep the bag away from harsh chemicals, machine washing, and high heat. Let it air out after use and store it in a dry place, ideally lightly filled to help maintain its shape. For deeper cleaning, a specialist cleaner experienced with luxury textiles is the safest option.

Q: What condition is this item in?
A: This bag is in very good vintage condition. The exterior shows light traces of use, including a small mark on the back and some loose threads around the strap. The interior also shows light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light surface scratches.

Q: What is included with this purchase?
A: No additional items are listed with this piece. If something such as a box, dust bag, or card is not mentioned in the product information, it should be assumed not to be included.

Q: How do you authenticate this Prada backpack?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully checked by in-house experts using a multi-point authentication process. For Prada nylon pieces, this typically includes reviewing the materials, construction, stitching, hardware, lining, logo details, and other model-specific markers. With vintage items, authenticity is never judged by one detail alone but by the piece as a whole.
