Louis VuittonEpi Belt, Size 80

Q: What does size 80 usually mean on a Louis Vuitton belt?
A: Size 80 typically refers to the fit around the centre hole rather than the full end-to-end length. In practice, it is usually best for someone looking for an approximately 80 cm fit point, but the right fit also depends on whether you plan to wear it on the waist or lower on the hips. Comparing it with a belt you already wear is the safest way to judge fit.

Q: What are the key details of this belt?
A: This is a vintage Louis Vuitton belt in black Epi leather with gold-tone hardware and an LV logo buckle. It has a slim, elegant look that works well for both everyday styling and smarter outfits.

Q: Is Epi leather a durable choice?
A: Yes. Epi leather is one of Louis Vuitton’s better-known textured leathers and is generally appreciated for being structured, relatively low-maintenance and more resistant to everyday scratching than smoother leathers. As with any pre-owned belt, gentle use will help preserve the finish around the edges, holes and buckle area.

Q: Will a leather belt like this soften or stretch with wear?
A: It can soften slightly and take on the shape of the wearer over time. To help protect the leather, avoid fastening it too tightly, as this can put extra strain on the strap and the belt holes.

Q: What condition is this belt in?
A: The overall condition is Very Good. It shows light traces of use on the leather, while the hardware remains shiny with light scratches consistent with careful pre-owned wear.

Q: What does the code CA5103 mean?
A: Louis Vuitton pieces from this era usually use a date code rather than a unique serial number. CA5103 is commonly read as a Spanish factory code with production in the 51st week of 2013. As always, a date code is only one part of authentication and should not be used on its own to confirm authenticity.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This item comes with a dust bag. If an original box, card or any other extras are not listed in the product information, they should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How should I care for this belt?
A: Wipe the leather gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth when needed, and avoid solvents, oils, perfume, creams and harsh leather products. If it gets wet, blot it promptly and let it dry naturally. Storing it in its dust bag and away from direct heat or prolonged sunlight will help keep it looking its best.

Q: How do you authenticate a pre-owned Louis Vuitton belt like this?
A: Authentication should look at the item as a whole, including the leather quality, stitching, hardware, stamps, construction details and date code. At A Retro Tale, pre-owned designer pieces are vetted before sale, and the date code is considered as one part of that broader authenticity check.
