ChanelClassic Jumbo Double Flap Bag

Q: What fits inside the Chanel Classic Jumbo Double Flap?
A: The Jumbo is significantly more spacious than the Medium Classic Flap. It typically holds a large smartphone (Pro/Max models), a full-length continental wallet, a cosmetics pouch, sunglasses in a hard case, keys, and a small tablet (such as an iPad Mini) or A5 notebook. Please refer to the Measurements on this page (approx. 30 × 20 × 9 cm) or contact us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Can I wear the Jumbo crossbody?
A: Yes, the Jumbo is widely loved for its versatile strap length. With a single chain drop of approximately 60 cm, it sits comfortably as a crossbody bag on most frames. You can also double the chain for a shorter shoulder carry (approx. 33 cm drop).

Q: How heavy is the Double Flap compared to the Single Flap?
A: The Double Flap construction features an extra interior leather flap, which adds structure and helps the bag maintain its shape over time, but it does make the bag slightly heavier than the vintage Single Flap versions. The interior capacity is also slightly reduced due to the double-wall design.

Q: How should I care for the lambskin leather?
A: Lambskin is renowned for its buttery soft texture and luxurious sheen, but it is more delicate than caviar leather. It can show scratches and pressure marks more readily. We recommend keeping it away from moisture, oils, and dark denim to prevent colour transfer. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth if needed, and store the bag upright with padding to preserve the puffy look of the quilting.

Q: What are the interior compartments and layout?
A: This bag features the iconic burgundy leather lining with a "bag-within-a-bag" structure. It includes a main compartment with slip pockets, a lipstick slot, a "secret" zipped pocket inside the outer flap, and a front slip pocket hidden behind the second flap. There is also the signature "Mona Lisa" half-moon pocket on the exterior back.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The bag features the classic CC turn-lock on the outer flap and a press-stud (snap) closure on the inner flap, offering excellent security for your belongings. For valuable items, we recommend using the internal zipped pocket.

Q: What year was this specific bag made?
A: This item features a serial number starting with 16 (16951106), which indicates it was manufactured in 2012. We can provide close-up photos of the serial code sticker upon request.

Q: How do you authenticate this item?
A: Every piece at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, serial stickers, and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
