ChanelClassic Jumbo Double Flap Bag

Q: What are the measurements and what typically fits inside the Jumbo Double Flap?
A: This piece measures approximately 30 × 20 × 9 cm. It comfortably holds a large smartphone, a long wallet, keys, sunglasses in a slim case, and a small cosmetics pouch. A compact tablet or e‑reader can fit; however, a 13-inch laptop is not recommended and A4 documents may need to be folded or may cause the bag to bulge due to the structured double-flap design.

Q: Can the Jumbo be worn crossbody?
A: The chain can be worn doubled as a short shoulder strap or as a single longer strap. On this bag the approximate drop is 33 cm when doubled and 60 cm when single. Many people wear the Jumbo as a long shoulder bag; crossbody wear depends on your height and torso length and may sit relatively high on taller frames.

Q: What are the advantages of the double-flap design?
A: The inner flap adds structure, helps the bag keep its shape over time, and provides extra security and organisation. The trade-off is a little extra weight and slightly less interior space than a single-flap design of similar size.

Q: Is lambskin suitable for everyday use and how does it compare with caviar leather?
A: Lambskin is beautifully soft with a smooth, luxe finish, but it is more prone to surface marks than caviar (grained) leather. With mindful use it can be enjoyed regularly—avoid abrasion, be cautious with light rain and colour transfer, and rotate wear to minimise wear on corners.

Q: How should I care for and store lambskin on this bag?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid applying cleaners, conditioners, or oils that could alter the finish. Keep it away from prolonged sunlight and humidity. When storing, loosely stuff the bag to maintain shape, wrap the chain to prevent indentations, and place it upright in a breathable dust bag.

Q: Is the Jumbo heavy?
A: Compared with smaller Classic Flap sizes, the Jumbo feels substantial due to its size, double flap and metal chain. To keep it comfortable for extended wear, avoid overfilling and distribute weight with pouches where possible.

Q: Does this piece come with any included items?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. For this item, a serial number tag is included; if an item such as a dust bag or authenticity card isn’t mentioned in the product information, it is not included.

Q: What does the serial number 20XXXXXX indicate?
A: A 20‑series serial number corresponds to production around 2014–2015. Chanel bags from this period were made with an interior serial sticker and originally came with a matching authenticity card, though cards are often missing in the pre‑owned market and are not required for authenticity.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: The country of origin label states Italy. Chanel manufactures handbags in both France and Italy, so either origin is typical for authentic pieces.

Q: How do you verify authenticity at A Retro Tale?
A: Every item is rigorously inspected by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and serials. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional product information on request.
