CelineRaffia Charm Shoulder Bag

Q: What typically fits inside this Céline Raffia Charm Shoulder Bag?
A: With approximate measurements 38 × 18 × 10 cm and a 20 cm strap drop, it comfortably holds a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses case, a small cosmetic pouch and an A5 diary or small tablet up to around 11 inches. It will not fit a 13-inch laptop. For exact sizing, refer to the Measurements on this page.

Q: Is raffia suitable for rainy weather?
A: Raffia is a natural fibre that dislikes moisture. Keep the bag dry; if it gets damp, blot gently, reshape with light stuffing and let it air-dry away from heat and direct sunlight. Consider using a bag rain cover when showers are forecast.

Q: How should I clean the raffia and the leather trim?
A: For raffia, remove loose dust with a soft brush and spot-clean marks with a barely damp cloth and a drop of mild soap, then air-dry. Do not soak or use harsh cleaners. For the leather trim, wipe with a soft cloth and condition occasionally with a suitable leather cream, testing first on a discreet area.

Q: Is raffia durable for everyday use?
A: Raffia is light yet resilient for day-to-day essentials, but it is not designed for heavy loads. Avoid overfilling, prolonged abrasion and rough surfaces to preserve the weave and keep the shape.

Q: How do I store it to maintain its shape?
A: Store stuffed lightly with acid-free tissue in a breathable dust bag, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Avoid hanging the bag by its straps for long periods. If the shape softens over time, gentle stuffing for 24–48 hours usually helps it recover.

Q: Will the raffia snag or transfer colour?
A: The textured weave can catch on rough fabrics or hardware. Keep it away from abrasive surfaces and sharp jewellery. Light-coloured raffia can pick up dye from darker garments such as raw denim; avoid prolonged contact to minimise colour transfer.

Q: Does this style have a top closure?
A: This vintage model has an open top. For added security and organisation, use a zipped pouch or a lightweight felt organiser for smaller items.

Q: Where can I find the Céline date code and what does it mean?
A: Many Céline bags have an internal date code, usually on a small leather tab or embossed into the lining. The common format is one letter, two letters and four numbers; it indicates production details and is not a unique serial number. Location and format can vary by era and style, so codes should be considered alongside craftsmanship and materials.

Q: What is included with my purchase?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information section. For this item, that section notes that no additional items are included. If you would like clarification, please contact us.

Q: Can minor raffia flyaways be fixed?
A: Occasional stray fibres are normal; carefully trim flyaways with small scissors. For significant breaks or major structural issues, consult a professional handbag repair specialist familiar with woven natural fibres.
