Saint LaurentSmall Jamie Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Saint Laurent Small Jamie?
A: With approximate measurements of 25 × 15 × 9.5 cm, it’s ideal for daily essentials: a large smartphone (including most Pro/Max models), continental wallet, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, wireless earbuds and a small cosmetics pouch. An iPad mini–sized tablet may fit when placed horizontally without a bulky case; A4 documents and 11‑inch tablets do not fit. A 500 ml bottle will not stand upright but can lie horizontally if the bag isn’t overfilled. For a tailored fit check for this exact piece, just ask and we’ll test it for you.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody and is the strap adjustable?
A: The leather‑and‑chain strap is a sliding design you can wear two ways: doubled for shoulder carry or extended as a single strap for shoulder or high crossbody wear. For this specific bag we list an approximate strap drop of 29 cm (doubled) and 50 cm (single). Crossbody carry typically sits medium‑high depending on height and layers.

Q: How secure is the closure and what’s the interior layout?
A: The Small Jamie features a flap with a magnetic snap for quick, secure access. Inside, there is a main compartment with fabric lining and pocketing that can vary by season (commonly a zip pocket and/or a flat slip pocket). Our listing photos show the exact configuration of this piece.

Q: What materials and hardware does this one have?
A: This item is crafted in black quilted leather with gold‑tone hardware and a sliding chain‑and‑leather strap, finished with the YSL Cassandre logo on the flap. The lining is black fabric and it is labelled Made in Italy.

Q: How does the leather wear and how should I care for it?
A: The Jamie’s soft, quilted leather looks luxurious but benefits from mindful care: avoid moisture and oils, prolonged sunlight and contact with abrasive surfaces; be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim onto light fabrics/leather. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth and condition smooth leather sparingly with a high‑quality neutral product (test first on a discreet area). Store the bag upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag. To minimise chain imprints, tuck the strap inside with a piece of felt/soft cloth between chain and leather.

Q: Is the Small Jamie heavy to carry?
A: The Small Jamie is designed to be compact and relatively light for day‑to‑night wear. The chain has a leather section for comfort on the shoulder when worn doubled. If you’d like the precise scale weight for this exact piece, we’re happy to provide it on request.

Q: Is the Jamie line still in production? What’s the difference between sizes?
A: Yes—the Jamie family remains an active Saint Laurent line, offered seasonally in different sizes, colours and materials. The “Mini/4.3 Mini” is smaller (around 20 × 12 × 7 cm), while the Small sits larger at roughly 25 cm in width; there are also larger “Shopping” shoulder‑bag versions. Exact dimensions vary by season—compare the Measurements listed here with your needs or ask us for guidance.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes typically found?
A: Authentic Saint Laurent bags usually feature a “SAINT LAURENT PARIS” interior heat‑stamp and a “Made in Italy” stamp. You’ll often find a small leather tab inside with style/production information, along with branded hardware and consistent stitching and logo details. We’re happy to share close‑ups of the stamps and interior tag for this item.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: For this specific listing we include: box, dust bag, authenticity card and receipt. If an accessory isn’t mentioned here, it isn’t included—feel free to contact us for confirmation.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this bag?
A: Every item we sell undergoes rigorous multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, quilting and construction, logo and stamps, hardware, interior tabs/codes and overall make. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we offer and can provide additional photos or details on request.
