Louis VuittonMonogram Reporter PM Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Reporter PM?
A: The Reporter PM (Petit Modèle) is a deceptively spacious bag inspired by classic camera cases. Its dual-compartment design allows it to comfortably hold daily essentials such as a large smartphone, a continental wallet, keys, a sunglasses case, a cosmetic pouch and even a small water bottle or compact camera. Please refer to the Measurements on this page (approx. 28 × 19 × 9 cm) or contact us for tailored fit advice for this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit a tablet or laptop?
A: It can typically accommodate a small tablet (e.g., iPad Mini) or an e-reader in the main compartments. However, due to its 28 cm width and rounded corners, it is not designed to fit a laptop or large A4 documents.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody?
A: Yes, the bag features a wide, adjustable textile shoulder strap. With a strap drop of up to 54 cm, it is designed to be worn comfortably on the shoulder or crossbody, making it an excellent choice for travel and hands-free daily use.

Q: What is the interior layout?
A: The "Reporter" name refers to its organized, multi-pocket design. It features two separate main compartments, each secured with a zip closure. Inside, you will find a slip pocket for organization, and there is an additional open slip pocket on the exterior front for items you need to access quickly, like a phone or boarding pass.

Q: What materials is this bag made from?
A: This piece is crafted from Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram coated canvas, which is durable and water-resistant. It is finished with natural Vachetta (cowhide) leather trim and gold-tone hardware. The interior is lined with a durable beige canvas.

Q: How should I care for the Vachetta leather?
A: Vachetta leather is untreated and allows the bag to develop a unique character over time. It naturally darkens to a honey colour (patina) with exposure to light and air. It is sensitive to water and oils, which can leave marks. We recommend keeping the leather dry and avoiding direct contact with hand creams or perfumes. If it gets wet, blot gently with a light-coloured, lint-free cloth.

Q: Is the Reporter PM still produced?
A: No, the Monogram Reporter line has been discontinued by Louis Vuitton. It remains a favourite on the pre-loved market due to its practical, unisex design and robust construction.

Q: What condition is this specific vintage piece in?
A: This item is in Very Good condition with only light traces of use. The hardware is shiny with light scratches, and both the external canvas and internal lining are well-preserved. Please refer to the detailed condition rating and photos on this page for a closer look.

Q: Where are the brand markings located?
A: Authentic Louis Vuitton Reporter bags typically feature a heat stamp reading "LOUIS VUITTON Paris made in France" (or another country of manufacture) on a leather tab inside. A date code indicating the production time and location is also hidden within the lining or on a tab. We are happy to provide close-up photos of these details on request.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: This item includes its original dust bag. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, codes and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
