Louis VuittonVernis Lexington Pochette Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Vernis Lexington Pochette Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 20 x 12 x 3 cm, this compact pochette is best suited to small essentials such as cards, keys, lipstick, a slim cardholder and a phone. It is ideal for light daily use or evening wear rather than carrying bulkier items.

Q: Can this bag be carried on the shoulder?
A: This style has a short strap with an approximate drop of 14 cm. Depending on your frame and outfit, it may sit as a very short shoulder bag, but many owners prefer to carry it by hand or tucked under the arm as a pochette.

Q: Is the Louis Vuitton Vernis Lexington more of a day bag or an evening bag?
A: The Lexington Pochette is especially popular as an evening or occasion bag thanks to its slim, elegant shape and glossy Vernis finish. It can also work for daytime when you only need a few essentials.

Q: What is Vernis leather, and how does it wear over time?
A: Vernis is Louis Vuitton’s embossed patent leather, known for its glossy finish and raised Monogram pattern. On vintage pieces, it is common to see light marks, colour variation, or some discolouration over time, especially on lighter shades.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Vernis bag?
A: Wipe it gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaners, oils, excessive heat, humidity, and prolonged direct sunlight. Because Vernis can be prone to colour transfer, it is best stored away from dark textiles and other leather items.

Q: What condition is this specific bag in?
A: This item is in very good condition. The exterior shows minor marks and discolouration, the interior has a light trace of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Please review the product images and product information for the most accurate representation.

Q: Does this item come with any extras?
A: This item is listed with no accessories. For included details, please refer to the product information, as that is the most accurate reference for what comes with this bag.

Q: Is a date code the same as a serial number?
A: Not exactly. On vintage Louis Vuitton bags, a date code usually indicates the place and period of production rather than serving as a unique serial number. It can be a helpful detail, but it should not be used on its own to judge authenticity.

Q: How do you authenticate a vintage Louis Vuitton bag like this?
A: Authenticity should be assessed through a combination of details such as materials, construction, stitching, hardware, stamps, overall proportions, and age-consistent features. Date codes can support an assessment, but they are only one part of the picture.
