CelineCarriage Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Céline Carriage Bag?
A: With approximate dimensions of 24 x 18.5 x 6 cm, it is best suited to daily essentials such as a phone, a small wallet or cardholder, keys, sunglasses and lipstick. It is a compact vintage shoulder bag, so larger items such as tablets or laptops will not fit.

Q: Is this bag designed for shoulder wear or crossbody wear?
A: This style is designed primarily for shoulder wear. The single flat strap has an approximately 22 cm drop, so most buyers will find it too short for comfortable crossbody use.

Q: How is the interior organised?
A: The bag is lined in tonal leather and arranged with three compartments, which makes it easy to separate essentials such as your phone, wallet and smaller personal items.

Q: How does the bag close?
A: It features a flap closure, which gives the bag its structured vintage look while keeping everyday essentials neatly secured.

Q: What condition is this vintage bag in?
A: The bag is listed in good condition overall. The exterior shows visible scratches on the leather and wear on the strap, the interior has light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. As with most vintage pieces, minor age-related character is to be expected.

Q: What product information is included with the bag?
A: This bag comes with a dust bag. If you would like confirmation of anything else included, please contact us before purchase.

Q: Does this bag have a serial number or date code?
A: No serial number is listed in this product information. Many vintage Céline bags use date codes rather than modern serial numbers, and these are often placed on an interior leather tab or stamped into the lining, although location can vary by era and style. Q: What does the Carriage detail signify?
A: The horse-and-carriage detail, often referred to as the Sulky motif, is one of Céline's heritage house symbols and is closely associated with vintage designs, which gives this bag a classic archival feel. ([vintagefashionguild.org](https://vintagefashionguild.org/resources/item/label/celine/))

Q: How should I care for the leather?
A: Keep the leather away from humidity, direct heat, perfume, make-up, hand cream and sanitiser. If it gets damp, gently dab it dry with a soft light-coloured cloth, avoid rubbing it against abrasive surfaces, and store it in its dust bag when not in use. For vintage leather, gentle handling is best, especially where scratches are already visible. Q: How do you authenticate vintage Céline bags?
A: A Retro Tale sells authenticated vintage pieces and states that authenticity is verified by its experts. If you would like extra reassurance before buying, it is sensible to request close-up images of stamps, lining, hardware and any interior code details.
